STAFF & VOLUNTEER BEDSIDE CARE TEAM CONTINUING EDUCATION
EvergreenHealth is committed to provide our staff and volunteers with the resources to make a true positive impact on the live of our patients and families. A portion of the proceeds from the Seasons of Hope Fundraising Luncheon will leverage just-in-time training for our bedside care team. We will utilize technology to deliver this critical training.
EvergreenHealth Hospice is guided by the conviction that every person facing a life-limiting illness should have access to dignified,
compassionate, quality care. EvergreenHealth’s charity care program helps to cover the cost of hospice services for patients who are
financially disadvantaged or do not have hospice insurance coverage. Proceeds from the Seasons of Hope Fundraising Luncheon will provide these services to those in our community who might not have the opportunity otherwise.
A little more about hospice and palliative care at EvergreenHealth:
GENE & IRENE WOCKNER HOSPICE CARE CENTER
EvergreenHealth has the only free-standing Hospice Care Center in all of King and Snohomish Counties. This 15-bed facility was designed
to be as home-like as possible while providing hospital-level medical care for our patients who have symptoms too difficult to manage at
home. In addition, patients & family members receive emotional support, education, and on-going assistance and resources; allowing family
members quality time with their loved one.
IN-HOME HOSPICE CARE
When facing a life-limiting illness, EvergreenHealth Hospice Home Care provides a comprehensive model of care focused on quality of life
rather than cure. Our program emphasizes symptom management and education while helping to address the emotional, mental and
spiritual needs of the patient and his or her family and friends. EvergreenHealth Hospice Home Care currently serves more than 500 patients
at any given time wherever they live within King and Snohomish counties: private homes, assisted living facilities, adult family homes and
During the course of a progressive, complex illness, it can be very difficult to sort through the available treatment options. EvergreenHealth
Palliative Care helps to navigate through these options based on the patient’s values and priorities. EvergreenHealth offers inpatient
consultations for hospitalized patients and for patients in an outpatient clinic or home setting. This service is available to patients who have
some form of life-limiting condition with a prognosis of two years or less.
These include several options for patients and families, both at the EvergreenHealth Gene & Irene Wockner Hospice Care Center and through
the In-Home Hospice Care Program. Examples include
music-thanatology, music therapy, massage, Reiki, and Qigong for our bereavement program. Without your support, many of these programs
would not be possible.
